Position Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment throughout all assigned areas of the property. This role ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation for guest rooms, common areas, and facilities, contributing to a positive guest experience. The Housekeeper demonstrates attention to detail, teamwork, and integrity in all cleaning and housekeeping duties.
Primary Housekeeping Responsibilities and Cleaning Duties
Clean and sanitize guest units, common areas, restrooms, and offices according to established cleaning procedures and schedules.
Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors throughout assigned areas.
Make beds and change linens in guest units or assigned rooms.
Replace towels, amenities, and supplies in guest accommodations and public areas as needed.
Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste and recyclables.
Replenish cleaning carts and storage areas with supplies and materials.
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage promptly to the supervisor or management.
Follow infection prevention protocols and safety procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Assist with laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens when required.
Respond promptly to special cleaning requests or guest service needs as assigned.
Support other team members and assist with other housekeeping or facility duties as needed.
Housekeeping Job Qualifications and Requirements
Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or janitorial services preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and cleaning checklists.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Honest, responsible, and trustworthy.
Able to work well both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Good communication skills and a professional demeanor at all times.
Physically able to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting up to25 pounds, bending, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods.
Flexible and willing to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits for Housekeeping Position
Up to 45 hours per week, with flexible scheduling based on business needs.
Overtime paid for hours worked above45 per week.
Holiday pay provided according to Belize labor laws.
Wages: $300 BZD per week, paid biweekly.
